'From the Fjells to the Fjords' - a walk through Norway

AURLANDSDALEN

The walk down the Aurlandsdalen valley from Osterbo to Vassbygdi is one of the most famous in Norway. It begins at a height of 820m and descends to 50m. The following images are a selection of views as the 16 kilometre trails winds down the valley.

At this point, Nesbogalden, the path has been blasted out of the rock face and a rope gives a measure of protection to walkers.

The protected path can be seen at the top left hand corner of the image. Quite a drop!

The restored summer farm at Sinjarheim

The descent from Sinjarheim. Another path blasted from a rock face - no protection this time.
