GRISEDALE PIKE & HOPEGILL HEAD 5 December 2004

On a dull day we started this walk from Thornthwaite through Whinlatter Forest. A distant glimpse of Derwentwater.

Having broken out from the forest, this is approaching Black Crag on Hobcarton End.

The top of Grisedale Pike - in the clouds with no view.

On the ridge between Grisedale Pike and Hopegill Head we drop below the clouds for a few yards

Hopegill Head - back in the clouds

Our route back was down Coledale Hause and the old mine track. Trekking poles are useful when crossing streams!
