The Hertfordshire Way is a 166 mile long distance trail around the county divided into 14 legs, and beginning and ending at Royston. Bluetiger walked the third leg from Willian to Codicote, 12 miles, in August 2002.
The guidebook describes this as "an excellent scenic leg with some fine villages and farm land. It is also a well wooded route with areas of parkland. It has some outstanding view points on a clear day so be on the look out and not just mile crunching!"

Flowers in a flint wall at Langley End

Just along from there a fantastic crop of early blackberries - we picked a lot for an apple and blackberry pie!
